The latest model of the ever-popular Microsoft Surface was recently announced at a Microsoft event. The new Microsoft Surface Pro 8 It is reportedly twice as fast as the previous model. Microsoft shrunk the bezels on the side of the screen (something we’ve wanted for years) to increase the screen size to 13 inches, making it the largest Surface yet. A 120Hz refresh rate is an optional upgrade. They also eliminated the two traditional USB ports, leaving only two USB-C ports. They stuck with the headphone jack, of course (wink, wink, Apple).
The new Microsoft Surface Pro 8 retails for $ 1,099, the same price as a relatively updated Surface Pro 7. All in all, that’s essentially what the Surface 8 is: a nice update on a classic. Surface Pro 8 is out now, so keep your eyes peeled for Surface Pro offerings on this new model.
2019 saw the launch of the updated seventh iteration of Microsoft Surface Pro alongside the groundbreaking Surface Pro X. For this update, Microsoft continued its conservative approach and decided not to play too much with a winning formula. It was a good strategy: The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 It has everything we love about the Pro 6 with some subtle improvements like the newer Intel Core CPUs and the welcome addition of a high-speed USB-C port.
Along with those relatively minor (but very nice) updates, the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 still boasts that beautiful PixelSense 3: 2 touchscreen and great build quality, and it also works seamlessly with a Type Cover keyboard to do double duty. about 2 inches. -1 ultrabook laptop. One of our few complaints is that it doesn’t come bundled with the keyboard cover yet, but the Surface Pro offerings and ongoing sales should help alleviate that.
Microsoft revealed two new Surface devices in 2019, releasing the new Surface Pro X alongside the Surface Pro 7 update in late October and early November. The Pro 7 was just a small update to the main Surface Pro series, but the Microsoft Surface Pro X It delivered the much-needed facelift: Most notably, Microsoft finally removed those thick bezels surrounding the display, which was one of our few persistent complaints with regular Surface Pro models (including the newer Pro 7).
It’s not as fast as the Surface Pro 7 or Pro 8 in terms of specs, but the main downside here is that the Microsoft Surface Pro X is thinner and lighter. In fact, it’s the thinnest Surface yet at just 0.2 inches, and those slimmer bezels allow for more screen real estate with a larger 13-inch 1920p PixelSense touchscreen (for an additional 0.7 inches). Surface Pro X is the complete package, but it’s also the most expensive new member of the Surface family, so savvy shoppers should look out for the many bargains during seasonal sale events.
If we’ve whetted your appetite for these 2-in-1s but, for various reasons, you don’t want to waste a lot of cash for one of the Surface Pro models, then the Microsoft Surface Go definitely worth checking out. The 10-inch Surface Go is a cheaper alternative to the higher-end Surface Pro line, with a smaller screen, simpler hardware, and Windows 10S (a scaled-down version of the Windows 10 operating system). We’re not going to claim it’s the best Surface money can buy, it’s not, but for around $ 400, it’s very, very hard to look at this gift horse in the mouth.
Surface Go is a great option for anyone looking for something a little smaller than a Surface Pro or for buyers who want something affordable (either as a secondary 2-in-1 for travel or as a device for basic web browsing and streaming) . and the Microsoft Surface offerings above make it even sweeter. Microsoft recently released Second Gen Surface Go, and while our review team deemed it too expensive at launch, it’s another option to consider if you want some hardware upgrades and may find a good deal.
