Huawei Says HarmonyOS Will Go Global Starting Next Year

China-based tech conglomerate Huawei has already released its long-awaited HarmonyOS OS update for its smartphones. Although the operating system has already been adopted by more than 150 million users who have already downloaded and started using it on Android.

Huawei and Honor phone users have the new update since yesterday, December 2, since the company says that about 135 Huawei and Honor devices already have it officially.

Also, 6 other devices are getting the public beta version. Unfortunately, all of these devices receiving this update are in China. Global users have been concerned about when HarmonyOS will be available outside of China.

In an interview recently conducted in Romania, the head of Huawei’s consumer business in the region, Derek Yu, shared that global users will get Huawei’s updated operating system next year.

The Huawei executive spoke about it for the first time at the global launch of HarmonyOS.

Currently, Huawei released the updated EMUI 12 of its operating system globally. Apparently, global users will stay on EMUI until next year.

According to the Huawei executive, the overall performance of users after migration from Android has improved by 10 percent.

It is worth mentioning that HarmonyOS 3.0 is already underway and beta testing start in the first trimester next year.

However, the specific date or month this update will arrive is not mentioned.
